QRC alumni, Logan Preston has launched his own exciting business only months after graduating from QRC’s Adventure Tourism Management Diploma.
Tekapo Jet takes visitors on an exciting and picturesque tour of the spectacular Lake Tekapo in the South Island of New Zealand, visiting iconic landmarks as well as thrilling them with jet boat manoeuvres and spins.
Logan identified the gap in the adventure activity market in Tekapo during his internship in the region. His Tekapo Jet business plan took shape as part of a project during the final term of the Adventure Tourism Management Diploma.
The Diploma teaches students the particulars of managing an adventure tourism business, from marketing and superb customer service to managing your profits and ensuring safety.
Working with his parents and utilising his skills and knowledge of the industry, Logan attained the relevant licenses, consents, safety and operating certificates and acquired a business loan.
Logan completed QRC last October and on Boxing Day, officially launched the Tekapo Jet.
Other successful QRC alumni businesses include wine tours, quad biking, social media, bike safaris, outdoor equipment, water sports, restaurants, photography, bakeries and gastro pubs.
